A British woman, who remains unnamed for legal reasons, has discovered that her boyfriend of two years was in fact her female best friend.
The woman developed an online relationship with a man named Kye Fortune, who told her he had been in a car accident causing him severe scaring, thus he was too ashamed to show anyone his face.
After months of chatting online, the pair decided it was time to meet up, and Kye told the unnamed woman she should wear a blindfold in order to make him feel more comfortable.
The two had sex multiple times, until the woman decided one day that she’d pull her blindfold off,
“When I was having sex I grabbed for the back of his head and my hand got caught on something. It did not feel right. I was sat on the bed, he was standing up. Something in my mind said, ‘Pull it off!’ [the blindfold]”, she told the courts.
“Gayle was just standing there. Straight away she held her hand down over her face and said, ‘It’s not what you think.’” A strap-on was reportedly used in the catfishing to make Gayle Newland’s fake male persona believable.
Gayle Newland, 25, is being charged with five counts of sexual assault which she is currently denying.
